XRP Ledger Surpasses 10 Million x402 Payments Through t54's Facilitator

From one million to more than ten million payments in under three months.

10M+ x402 payments settled on the XRP Ledger, powered by t54's x402 facilitator

The XRP Ledger has surpassed 10 million x402 payments, settled through t54's x402 facilitator. The total has grown from one million to more than ten million in under three months. As of October 1, the seven-day average exceeded 500,000 payments per day, according to the XRPL AI Hub.

For t54, the significance lies in the market developing around these payments. As AI agents purchase services to carry out tasks, developers gain a new class of customers, and XRPL gains a new category of economic activity.

The x402 protocol makes payment part of an ordinary web request. A service can return a price and payment requirements, and an agent can respond programmatically to obtain access. This gives developers a standard way to charge for individual API calls, computation and data, with payment integrated into the interaction.

t54's facilitator connects that process to XRPL. It checks a payer-signed transaction against the service's payment requirements, submits it to the ledger and returns the settlement result. Payments can be made in XRP or RLUSD, while the payer retains control of their private keys. Service providers set their own prices and use the facilitator to handle payment verification and settlement.

The market taking shape around that infrastructure already includes services such as Heurist's inference router and AskSurf. The Hub's directory also lists financial data, wallet creditworthiness and risk-related APIs. These services give agents access to resources they can combine into larger workflows, while giving providers a way to serve agent customers.

This work is part of a broader effort to make XRPL accessible to developers building agent applications. Ripple's XRPL AI Starter Kit includes x402 support contributed by t54, making payments in XRP and RLUSD part of the available developer tooling. Shared protocols and tools make it easier for new applications and service providers to participate in the same payment ecosystem.

The next opportunity is to develop both sides of this market: more useful services for agents to buy, and more applications able to put those services to work. As agents take on more consequential financial tasks, clear authorization, risk controls and reliable settlement become increasingly important. Our work on payment and trust infrastructure is aimed at supporting that growth.

We see the agentic economy as a long-term source of demand for XRPL's payment infrastructure.
